CaféNor, a dry mill near Santa Ana, El Salvador, is led by Alejandro, whose family has been cultivating coffee for four generations. Although the mill is relatively new, it supports around 65 smallholder farmers in the area, each working small plots of 1-3 hectares. CaféNor’s mission is to empower these producers by connecting them to the specialty coffee market, providing resources like fertiliser, training, and post-harvest infrastructure.
Sustainability is at the heart of CaféNor’s practices, with solar panels powering the mill, a focus on conserving water during processing, and a certification for being carbon neutral through their investment in the La Geo geothermal energy project.
