Indigenous Me’phaa Smallholder Communities
More Information
Description
High in the remote mountains of Guerrero, Mexico, Juba is a coffee shaped by resilience, biodiversity, and community. Produced by smallholder farmers across the Montaña Alta region, this lot comes from indigenous Me’phaa communities, where coffee farming is deeply connected to both culture and landscape. The farms here are tiny - often less than one hectare - and resemble wild jungle gardens more than traditional coffee farms. Coffee grows beneath towering shade trees in biodiverse agroforestry systems that help protect ecosystems and preserve the natural richness of the region. Naturally processed, this lot showcases the fruit-forward sweetness and syrupy body that Guerrero coffees are known for.
